Consistory Meeting Summary, April 11 2007

The elders reported on their meeting with parents of middle school and high school students. As a result of this meeting, three courses of action will be taken: 1. set up a program where college-age students will serve as mentors to youth in the church; 2. have quarterly meetings with parents; and 3. have a monthly social event for youth.

A servant school for church officers, small group leaders, and any other interested people will be held on 5, 12, and 19 May at URC beginning at 9am and ending at 11:30am.

Pat Quinn will be teaching a class “Exploring Biblical Counseling” on Wednesday evenings beginning 6 June.

The diaconate has created a resource manual which includes the results of the diaconate survey. An offering will be taken in April for the diaconate fund. New officers for the diaconate will be: Byron Lane, president; Amity Hinkley, clerk; Matt Herwaldt, treasurer.

Thom Spalding has agreed to chair the new Administrative Team.

The “rcaintegrity” covenant was discussed. A vote will be taken on it at the May meeting.

There will be a congregational meeting and a GAB on Sunday, 29 April, after the 11am service. New officers will be elected at the meeting and an update on the status of building-property plans will be presented. Bob Sheehan will talk about His Hands Ministry.
